What Makes For Good Teaching

What makes for good teaching? I think that a good teacher will see that all students have different strengths and weaknesses, different talents and challenges and be accepting and understanding of this. There are so many creative kids out there who don't think like the 'average' child and are being forced to learn a certain way or else they wont pass the class or graduate high school. Not putting kids in a box would make for a good teacher but with large class sizes and all these educational standards its nearly impossible. Everyone has the ability to succeed but if the world keeps thinking that being successful is degrees and a lot of money, then I think that people will continue to 'fail'.
